Every Friday is dress-down Friday at Bar Harbor Savings & Loan. We pay for the privilege of dressing casually, and all proceeds are donated to a different worthy cause each month. During August, we will be dressing down for the Swan’s Island Library, which was destroyed by fire on July 24, 2008. The loss of the library building and its contents is devastating for the island. In addition to the loss of books and the building, historical photographs, old town reports, artifacts, and more are now gone forever.
